David E. Barker Endowed Scholarship for French Majors/Minors

To be eligible for this scholarships, candidates must be enrolled full-time, have declared French as their major or minor, be eligible to take upper-division (third and fourth year) French courses, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.5 in their French courses. In the event there are no qualifying French majors or minors, students of other foreign languages may be considered.

  1. Are you eligible to take upper division French courses (300-400 level)?
  2. What is your grade point average in your French courses only? (If you are studying another foreign language, please report your GPA in those courses.)
  3. Please write a 300-word essay stating your reasons for studying French (at least 50% of the essay must be written in French). For students of another foreign language, at least 50% of the essay must be written in the language you are studying.
