The Impact Scholarship
The Greater Oakland Charter Chapter, ABWA is looking for eligible applicants to sponsor for consideration of a $2,000 Impact Scholarship from the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund of the American Business Women’s Association. The Impact Scholarship Program offers college students attending a 4-year accredited college or university a scholarship that helps to offset costs associated with their college tuition, books, and fees.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Female, U.S. citizen and seeking a Baccalaureate degree or higher.
- ABWA members and non-members, including high school seniors, may apply for an Impact scholarship.
- Primary (home) residence must be in Michigan.
- Has achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
- Must be a college freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student by 8/1/2026.
- Must be attending an institution authorized to confer degrees at the baccalaureate level or higher in the US.
- Must complete an online application (link will be provided) and submit an official transcript, a biographical sketch and three (3) professional letters of reference dated in the same year as her application.
- A minimum of three (3) eligible completed applications are required for the scholarship to be awarded.
- Scholarship recipient will be notified in July 2026.
- The Greater Oakland Charter Chapter will sponsor the 2026 recipient for a one-year student membership ($50 value) in the American Business Women’s Association and the Greater Oakland Charter Chapter, which meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month. - Eligible applicants must send an email with “ABWA Impact Scholarship” and your name in the subject line. Include the following in your email: Your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, state of your primary residence, GPA, credit hours completed and name of the school you will be attending in the fall of 2026.
