Drs. Hsuan (Frank) Chen and Catherine Chen Endowed Scholarship in Physics
This scholarship is available to majors in physics or optical physics, enrolled full-time, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a minimum 3.0 in their physics courses. Candidates must also have completed the Physics 211/211L, 212/212L series and demonstrate the ability or potential to make a meaningful contribution to the field of physics. Preferences include completion or registration for at least three 300-400 level physics courses prior to the academic year in which they will receive the scholarship, with those enrolled in or having completed Physics 497 given first priority; those demonstrating aptitude or potential for physics research work (i.e., experimental physics skills, computational physics skills, mathematical skills, analytical skills, inherent physics-related curiosity); those demonstrating engagement in the community life of the SVSU Physics Department (i.e., research/collaboration with faculty, exploration of Physics topics outside course requirements, work with the Physics Department Lab Technician, active participation/leadership in the Physics Club, etc.).
