Leopold J. Kantzler Fellowship
This opportunity is open to incoming freshmen who are Bay County high school graduates. Candidates must show leadership, character, commitment to community service, and potential for future community service. Through grants from the Kantzler Foundation, SVSU is able to select 2-3 new Kantzler Fellows each year, and provide support to a total of 8-12 active Kantzler Fellows representing all four class levels. Upperclassmen actively mentor Fellows at lower class levels. Fellowships are renewable for up to four years, assuming recipients remain enrolled full-time, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and continue participating in good standing in the Kantzler leadership program. New Fellows may only enter as incoming freshmen. Please note incoming freshmen fellows are required to take LS101, Foundations of Leadership and Community Service, in their first fall semester. This three-credit course is provided free of charge to fellows and will include a service project that satisfies their annual service requirement. The course may be applied toward a minor in Leadership and Service.
