Valley Vanguard Excellence in Student Journalism Award

To be eligible for the award, students must be current staff members of The Valley Vanguard (all staff responsible for published material are eligible, i.e., writers, editors, photographers, layout designers, others); be enrolled at least half-time and making satisfactory academic progress. As part of their online application process, students will submit a portfolio of 3-5 samples of their work published in The Valley Vanguard during the current academic year and write a brief essay on the topic, “What I Have Learned as a Journalist and Why It Matters”.
