Walter G. and Carol A. Weinlander

Walter G. Weinlander was a Certified Public Accountant and a partner of Weinlander Fitzhugh where he retired on September 30, 1984. With his wife, Carol A. Weinlander, he was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as president. Additionally, he served as president of Lutheran Child and Family Services of Michigan, the Bay City Exchange Club as well as several other community and professional organizations. Carol served as a bookkeeper for several Bay City businesses during her career.

Walt and Carol were generous, long-time donors to Saginaw Valley State University, including their support for the Weinlander Fitzhugh Endowed Scholarship, which provides opportunities for family members of the firm’s employees. Walt passed away in 2019, followed by Carol in 2022. They made provisions in their estate for further support of scholarships at SVSU.
