Wally & Irene Bronner
The Frankenmuth Scholarship is supported annually by the Bronner family. Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth is the largest Christmas store in the world. The store was founded in 1945 by Wally Bronner. Mr. Bronner (who passed away in 2008) and his wife, Irene, were very active in their community and have given to many charitable causes. Their family foundation continues supporting the SVSU scholarship today. Bronner’s is open 361 days of the year and features over 50,000 Christmas items. Bronner’s Silent Night Memorial Chapel is open daily for viewing and meditation, and Bronner’s 1/2 mile Christmas Lane is lit every evening. Over two million people, including 2,000 group tours, visit Bronner’s annually.
The scholarship fund assists students from Frankenmuth attending SVSU.
