The Roe Family

Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Roe earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. from Wayne State University. She has been teaching and mentoring future nurses at Saginaw Valley State University for more than 35 years, including positions as Associate Professor, Professor, and Director of the Nursing Program.
Mark Roe earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He is currently Director of Grid Operations for Consumers Energy, where he has served in a variety of progressively impactful leadership roles over the span of a forty-year career with the company.
Both Mark and Beth (Wiegerink) grew up in families that valued education, service and caring for those in need. They are committed to helping students succeed and recognize the financial challenges faced by those required to enroll part-time due to program requirements or because of other life commitments.
