SVSU Alumni Association
The SVSU Alumni Association of Saginaw Valley State University hosts a number of events each year with activities for the whole family, including family fun days, golf outings, and celebrations. The mission of the Saginaw Valley Alumni Association is to engage our graduates and students in a mutually beneficial relationship with the University and to promote loyalty and support among our alumni.
Many Alumni events and fund-raising efforts are dedicated to supporting students and providing more scholarship awards for deserving students. There are currently two scholarships funded by The SVSU Alumni Association. In 1991, The Alumni Endowed Scholarship was established to recognize students who have demonstrated scholastic achievement in the pursuit of their undergraduate degree. In recent years, this scholarship was transformed into the Alumni Legacy Endowed Scholarship, which provides support to students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) are SVSU graduates.
In 1998, the Alumni Endowed MBA Scholarship was established to assist current SVSU MBA students in their efforts to acquire an advanced degree. The scholarship fund was created with gifts from local businesses and SVSU Alumni who recognize the importance of being able to earn an advanced degree in a regional setting. The SVSU Scott L. Carmona College of Business is accredited by the AACSB, or Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Only 15% of all business colleges worldwide have received this distinction.
