Steven Erickson and Krista Srodes

Dr. Erickson began his university teaching career at Dallas Baptist University in 1981, serving as director of technical theatre and subsequently department chair. In 1991, Dr. Erickson came to SVSU as Associate Professor of Theatre and was the coordinator of scenic, lighting, costume and properties design for the SVSU Theatre Department. During his career at SVSU, he designed over 40 shows, directed more than 35 shows and offered his talents in acting, directing and design at Pit & Balcony Community Theatre and Midland Center for the Arts. Dr. Erickson passed away in 2020. Krista M. Srodes is a graduate of SVSU, earning her BBA (1995) and MBA (1998) and was an adjunct instructor for the Department of Management. Previously she held upper level management positions at Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay, Covenant HealthCare and Blue Care Network. They established the scholarship to assist students whose areas of specialization within Theatre were design and technology.
