Stephen Anderson

Stephen H. Anderson, a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, endowed The Ida Mae Anderson scholarship in memory of his mother. His hope in establishing the scholarship is that somehow a spark of desire to keep exploring human foibles just like his mother did will develop in the lives of all who benefit from this scholarship.

Ida Mae Roux was born September 20, 1918 and died August 31, 2008. In her lifetime, Ida was interested in many subjects dealing with the world in which she lived. This fascination with the world led her to collect and catalog numerous books and articles which dealt with her love of understanding human foibles. Ida loved this quote from a poem she often used to sum up her life: “Poor little Ida sittin’ on a fence, tryin’ to make a dollar out of 99 cents.”
