Scott and Nancy Carmona

Mr. Carmona is an Engineering graduate of Saginaw Valley State University and, with his wife, Nancy, is the owner of Sunrise National Distributors, based in Bay City, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Carmona are dedicated to helping attract outstanding students to SVSU, and providing them with financial assistance in meeting their goals. The Carmonas are also aware of the difficulty in balancing the demands of employment with the requirements for successfully completing an engineering degree.

Mr. and Mrs. Carmona employ many SVSU graduates in their business, and realize the benefits of hiring accomplished students from SVSU, most of whom come from this area and remain in the region after graduation. Their sons, Ryan and Eric Carmona, are also committed to supporting the scholarship fund and assisting SVSU students. A racing lab in Pioneer Hall was dedicated to the Carmona family for their generous support of SVSU engineering students. In 2020, the new building for the Scott L. Carmona College of Business was dedicated, named for Mr. Carmona in appreciation for the family’s leadership gift to the capital campaign.
