Sara Margaret Leki

Sara Margaret Leki was born in 1915 and passed away in November 1997. She left 25% of her estate to fund scholarships for students at SVSU. Mrs. Leki resided in Saginaw, and wanted to assist students from the mid-Michigan area in achieving their educational goals. The scholarship recognizes students who have maintained good grades while still becoming involved in extra-curricular activities and their communities.

The scholarship program has been active for several years, and assists approximately between two and five students each year, depending on the funding available. Many SVSU students receive scholarship assistance because of generous people like Mrs. Leki, who care deeply about providing educational opportunities for the people of our region.
