Robert W. Sidney

Mr. Robert (Bob) Sidney has been a community leader in the Saginaw area for many years. Mr. Sidney is the Senior Vice President of Saginaw Bay Underwriters, one of the most premier insurance firms in this area. Mr. Sidney believes much can be accomplished through dedication, a willingness to work, a respect for others, and a desire to create an environment that encourages personal growth.

For those who have achieved success, Mr. Sidney believes it is an obligation to give back to the community. He has been active in many community organizations and has been generous with his time and contributions to the United Way, and other charitable organizations. Mr. Sidney has helped SVSU with its largest fundraising initiative, Promise for Tomorrow, an endowment campaign in support of scholarships and programs to make SVSU a more enriching experience for students.

To succeed in today’s world, Mr. Sidney believes that making the opportunity to earn college degrees to students who have the desire and ability to achieve is essential. He wishes to reward and encourage students who have demonstrated a commitment to their studies and a willingness to work hard to achieve their goals. This scholarship fund was established in 2000.
