Rick and Mary Goedert

Rick Goedert is a member of the SVSU Foundation Board of Directors and the President of 1st State Bank. He and his wife, Mary, established this scholarship in memory of his parents.

In 1959, Bob and Marge Goedert opened a real estate business encompassing brokerage, home building, land development and investment. Their three sons and a son-in-law worked in the business over high school and college summer breaks and early in their careers before leaving for other ventures. Bob and Marge’s youngest son Mark currently owns and manages the business (2013). Bob and Marge are now deceased, but, through their example, their values of hard work, honesty and commitment to family, employees, customers and community were passed down to their children.
