Mr. Richard "Burdette" and Mrs. Alice White

Mr. White was an avid golfer at the Bridgeport Country Club. He was known to his friends as “Burdette.” He always encouraged young people who became interested in golf. Mr. White passed away in 1988 at the age of 82.

The scholarship was established in his memory by his wife, Alice, in 1989. Scholarships are awarded to members of the SVSU Golf Team.
