Mr. Jeffrey L. Roberts and Ms. Mari McKenzie

In junior high school, Jeffrey Roberts was fascinated with elements and compounds, their properties, composition, and the way they react together to form new substances. Mr. Roberts studied Chemistry at Midland High School and Saginaw Valley State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from SVSU in 1977. Mr. Roberts is a Lab Supervisor in Materials Engineering at Delphi.

The scholarship fund was established in 1999 by Mr. Roberts’ wife, Mari McKenzie, to honor her husband’s accomplishments and love for his field. Mr. Roberts and Ms. McKenzie believe that Chemistry has an impact on our everyday lives in many ways. The scholarship is intended to assist SVSU students who are pursuing a career in the field of Chemistry.
