Morrison and Julie Stevens

Morrison M. Stevens was named the President of Stevens Worldwide Van Lines in 1977 and continued to serve in that capacity for nearly 30 years. Mr. Stevens has received numerous awards, including Mover of the Year by the Michigan Moving and Storage Association in 1990, induction into the Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of Northeastern Michigan, the Samuel H. Shaheen Vision of Free Enterprise Award, and the American Moving and Storage Association’s 2005 Distinguished Service Award.

Mr. Stevens served on the SVSU Foundation Board of Directors from 1995-2003. Julie Stevens was a 2000 recipient of the Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay Women of Distinction Award, served on the SVSU Foundation Board of Directors from 2010-2014. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stevens remain Honorary Directors. The 2005 SVSU Distinguished Service Award was given to Morrie & Julie Stevens at the All-University Awards Banquet. This is the University’s highest recognition of service to the University and the community. The Stevens Family provided leadership support to the university’s Family Business Program, recognized by its renaming to the Stevens Center for Family Business.

Mr. & Mrs. Stevens established the Morrison M. and Julie A. Steven Scholarship in 1992 to help non-traditional students with financial need. They also strongly supported the establishment of the Dean Paul J. Uselding Scholarship in Family Business in 2005.
