Morley Companies, Family, and Foundation

The first business that would become part of Morley Companies was established in 1863. Morley Companies provides service products from six categories that are designed to work on a stand-alone basis or in concert with one another. The services offered include Group Travel, Business Theater, Interactive, Research, Exhibits/Displays/Experiences, and Performance Improvement.

Morley Companies, the Morley Foundation, and the Morley family have been strong supporters and long-time friends of Saginaw Valley State University. Morley Companies have established two scholarships over the years, the Morley Companies Endowed Scholarship for Student Success and the Edward B. “Ted” Morley, Jr. Memorial Endowed Athletic Scholarship.

The Morley Companies Endowed Scholarship for Student Success assists second-year students at SVSU. The scholarship to honor Edward B. “Ted” Morley Jr. was established by the Morley Foundation in 2000 to recognize academic achievement by student athletes and to encourage their continued development. Edward B. “Ted” Morley, Jr. was a longtime President of the Morley Foundation. Under Ted’s direction, the Morley Foundation established an exceptional history of support for Saginaw Valley State University’s athletic programs.

The most notable project supported by the Morley Foundation to date was Morley Field, SVSU’s outdoor track and field facility. It was principally funded by the Foundation and dedicated in 1980. Ted served on the SVSU Foundation Board of Directors. SVSU recognized Ted with an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree in 1987.
