Melvin and Laynor Rephan

The scholarship fund was established in the 1970’s in memory of Howard Lynn Rephan, by his parents, Melvin and Laynor Rephan. Melvin Rephan was born in Conway, Arkansas, and moved to Saginaw in 1945, shortly after marrying Laynor, where he was a businessman until his retirement in 1981. The Rephans wanted to assist students at SVSU who demonstrated financial need.
