Lloyd & Judy Yeo

Lloyd Yeo was born in Saginaw in September 1932. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Michigan. He served in the US Finance Corps as an instructor of Finance and Fiscal Policy. Lloyd’s grandfather and father were the founding partners of Yeo & Yeo, established in Saginaw in 1923. Lloyd joined the firm in 1954 and was managing partner from 1965-1983.

Lloyd married Judith Brown of Flint, Michigan in 1955. They had three children and eight grandchildren. Judy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Michigan. She was a dedicated community volunteer who devoted her time to the Saginaw Community Concerts, Covenant Hospital Auxiliary, PEO Chapter AS, and was a ruling elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw. Together, Lloyd and Judy established the Yeo Family Foundation. Judy was also a member of the Saginaw Country Club and the Council of Michigan Foundations. She passed away in 2018.

Lloyd was a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, Council of Michigan Foundations, Michigan Association of CPA’s, Michigan Association of CPA’s Federal Taxation Committee, and the Northeast Michigan Estate Planning Council. Lloyd was known for his passion for community service and philanthropy.

He received many awards, including the Robert H. Albert Award for Community Service from the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, the Harry S. Lund Volunteer Award from the United Way of Saginaw County, the Spirit of Philanthropy Award from the Saginaw Community Foundation, Inductee into the Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of Northeast Michigan, Delphi/Boys & Girls Club Award for Service to Youth, and an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from Saginaw Valley State University.

He served on the boards of several charitable foundations. He was a strong and generous supporter of Saginaw Valley State University. He established this scholarship just weeks before his death in 2008 at the age of 75. Lloyd enjoyed playing golf, traveling, family vacations, and spending time with his grandchildren.
