Jack and Alice Wirt

The Wirts were the founders of Wirt Transportation in Bay City. The company was started in 1944 and offers services in transportation, trucking, warehousing, wholesale stone, and related construction materials. Mr. and Mrs. Wirt first established a scholarship fund at SVSU in 1979. In 1985, the Wirts established the endowed scholarship fund to ensure that the scholarship program would continue in perpetuity.

Mr. and Mrs. Wirt strongly believed in the value of education, and continued to generously enhance the scholarship fund over the years so more opportunities are available to SVSU students.
