Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is the world’s leading professional association for the advancement of technology. There are more than 365,000 IEEE members in over 150 countries around the world. IEEE members are engineers, scientists, and allied professionals whose interests are rooted in electrical and computer sciences, engineering, and related disciplines. The organization publishes nearly a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics. IEEE journals are consistently among the most highly cited.
The Northeast Michigan Section of the IEEE established a student branch at SVSU. Students have the opportunity to interact with Professional Engineers from the IEEE and enhance their education and leadership development. The scholarship was established in 1996 to assist members of the SVSU student branch of the IEEE in financing their education.
