Gene and Karen Yang

Dr. Gene C. Yang was a Biology professor at SVSU from 1976 until his retirement in 2000. Specializing in Microbiology, Dr. Yang was published numerous times in reputable scientific journals. SVSU’s Medical Technology program flourished under his leadership, and he was highly respected as an instructor of introductory and advanced Microbiology courses. Dr. Yang remains a successful businessman in the area food and restaurant business.

Dr. and Mrs. Yang have a deep respect for the Biology faculty and students at SVSU, and created the scholarship fund in 2001 to provide financial assistance and recognition of excellence among students majoring in Biology.
