Friends of DaVon Wheeler

DeVon Wheeler was born in Wayne County and graduated from Southgate Anderson High School. He came to SVSU in the fall of 2013 and joined the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity the following winter. During his time at SVSU, DaVon made many friends and had a lasting impact on their lives. Though DaVon sadly passed away in August of 2023, his friends fondly remember him as an unwavering pillar of support in their lives, and a consistently positive presence to everyone with whom he came into contact with. He was a son, brother, uncle, and more to many people. He was diligent in keeping his friendships strong, maintained his philosophy of being a dedicated brother to those in his fraternity, and was so close with his friends from college that he was a part of their families, so much so that their children called him “Uncle Da Von”.
Initiated by John Parcell, DaVon’s friends created a scholarship to honor his memory and give other students the opportunity to make the same meaningful memories he cherished at SVSU and through Greek Life.
