Friends and Family of John W. "Jack" Brooks

John “Jack” Brooks was an outstanding educator who cared passionately about teaching students, learning, athletics, coaching and science. While at SVSU he integrated his love of chemistry, football and education into a career path toward becoming a high school science (chemistry) teacher and football coach. John was a scholarship athlete and played football while attending SVSU. He graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a minor in Chemistry. John followed his dream and became an outstanding science educator and successful football coach for many years. He retired in 2006 from the Bloomfield Hills School District. After John passed away in 2008, family and friends established a scholarship in his memory.
