Family of Dawn Hoeg
Dawn {Schwark) Hoeg was born in Mt. Clemens, Ml on April 9, 1958. She was the daughter of Robert James .and Irma Jane Schwark. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School-North in 1976 where she played volleyball, softball, and basketba II. Dawn was granted a basketball scholarship at Saginaw Valley State University and played forward on the team. Dawn graduated with a degree in Marketing/Management in 1980. She married Dennis Hoeg on August 15, 1981 and continued to live in Saginaw/Bay City, Michigan. Dawn was employed in sales in the tool and die business throughout the Midwest and Carolinas for over 25 years. This is where she developed her special gift of being able to connect with new people on a personal level. Despite being in a male-dominated industry, she was successful because of her smile and outgoing personality.
While living in Saginaw, Dawn spent many hours at SVSU volunteering her time and talents with the athletics program as well as with the Zonta Board, and several bible study groups. Dawn served on the Cardinal Cabaret Auction Committee for several years, Cardinal Advisory Board, and volunteered her time at the community events like Trunk or Treat, Breast Cancer Awareness, and Community Youth Days at the university. Dawn attended as many football and basketball games as she could, and you could hear her rooting on. her team from the stands. Her love of basketball led her to learn the art of refereeing and spent many seasons traveling around the state officiating basketball games. These were with young boys and girls in youth leagues up to varsity men’s and women’s basketball in the region. She loved spending time with the kids and watching them mature into young adults. Dawn was unselfish with her support of the youth programs and the university. She was a devoted volunteer arid gave everything she personally could with every task she took on.
