Family and Colleagues of Jay Hornsby

Jay Hornsby grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was a resident of Midland most of his adult life. Mr. Hornsby’s parents valued honesty, dedication, hard work, and education, and he incorporated these values into his life and served as a role model to many. As his parents could not provide him with all the funds he needed for an education, Mr. Hornsby was able to go to college because of scholarships and hard work. Mr. Hornsby was a Vice President of The Dow Chemical Company. He served on the SVSU Board of Control. Family was very important to Mr. Hornsby, and he was a loving and wonderful husband to his wife, Dorothy, and a devoted father to their three sons, Mark, Scott, and Craig.

Family, friends, and colleagues have made donations to support the scholarship fund, which was established in 1993.
