Dr. George and Mrs. Lynn Puia

Both Dr. and Mrs. Puia are committed educators. Dr. Puia became a college professor in 1992 after spending more than a decade in international marketing. Dr. Puia has been a leader in developing short-term study abroad experiences for college students. Mrs. Puia is a life-long educator who has taught in a variety of public, private, and charter school contexts, and currently leads a special education program for high school students.

Dr. and Mrs. Puia have traveled extensively to a combined total of 34 countries. During the early 1980’s, they lived overseas. Dr. Puia managed a joint venture with employees from nine countries while Mrs. Puia taught English as a second language to Japanese children. Dr. and Mrs. Puia feel blessed for the travel and cultural opportunities they have experienced and established this endowment fund in 2006 to share that opportunity with SVSU students.
