Dr. Douglas E. and Patricia M. Hansen

Douglas was an educator for 49 years and served at Saginaw Valley State University for 38 years. Patricia was an elementary teacher for 25 years serving mostly in the Bay City Public Schools. Both were very active in the community. Douglas was a Rotarian for over fifty years, a school board member for 12 years, and served on numerous boards including Blue Care Network as Chair. Patricia was a commissioner in the Boy Scouts and worked with numerous non-profit activities. Douglas retired from SVSU as professor emeritus, coached two national championship teams, led the development of the Ryder Center, and serviced on numerous committees including faculty vice president and choosing of the third President of the University.
