Dr. and Mrs. Eldon L. Graham

Dr. Eldon Graham graduated from college at the age of 19 and began his career at The Dow Chemical Company when he was 20 years old. He continued his education as a part-time student at both Michigan State University and University of Michigan. Dr. Graham worked as a chemical engineer. In the early 1960’s, he was appointed to a committee to help develop a four-year institution of higher learning for the Tri-Cities.

Dr. Graham was part of the Science Advisory Committee for Saginaw Valley College (which grew into Saginaw Valley State University) from 1964-70, joining the SVSU faculty full-time in 1970. Dr. Graham was the department chairman of the newly formed technology program at SVC in 1972. The department gained national accreditation in 1989.

Though Dr. Graham was retired, he continued to consult and conduct research. One of the primary things he stated he would miss in retirement was the daily association with his students. Dr. Graham passed away on February 12, 2013 at the age of 87.
