Dan and Connie Lesh

Connie Lesh was born on August 19, 1944 and moved to Midland after high school, where she worked briefly for Dow. Pursuing her interest in the healthcare field, she then worked for local doctors as an office manager, billing agent, and medical transcriptionist. She completed substantial coursework toward her BSN but unfortunately couldn’t complete her degree due to medical issues. Earning her college degree remained important to Connie, so almost a decade later, with the encouragement of her husband, Dan, she worked diligently to earn a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from SVSU at the age of 60.
Dan and Connie were married for 48.5 years and raised three children together. Their family includes five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Connie was an avid reader and loved crafting. Among many needlecrafts, her passion was quilts. She made many quilts for her family and people of the church for infant dedications, the sick and shut-ins, and memorial quilts. She was very dedicated to her church and worked in the church office.
Connie passed away in November of 2025, and Dan created a scholarship to honor her memory and provide support to students with Connie’s passion for writing and determination to complete their college degrees.
