Chemical Bank (Now TCF Bank)

Chemical Financial Corporation (CFC), headquartered in Midland, was the third largest bank holding company in Michigan, with assets of over $3 billion. The Chemical Banks were a family of community banks affiliated with CFC, and committed to providing quality financial services from numerous locations throughout Michigan. Chemical Bank branch offices and their employees took pride in a strong tradition of involvement in their local communities and their “neighbor-helping-neighbor” spirit. Their employees were actively involved in charitable organizations and community events as leaders, members, and volunteers. Chemical Bank & Trust Company of Midland, Chemical Bank Bay Area, and Chemical Bank Thumb Area (Caro) established the scholarship fund in 1998 to award achievement and assist students in their service areas. Chemical Bank merged with TCF Bank, and is now operates under the TCF name.
