Bay City Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW)

The American Association of University Women is a national organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. The AAUW’s vision is to be a powerful advocate and visible leader in equity and education through research, philanthropy, and measurable change in critical areas impacting the lives of women and girls. The Bay City Branch was established in 1934, and currently has 32 members. The Bay City Branch provides scholarships for students at SVSU and Delta College, and members work hard to raise money through sales, auctions, and other activities.

Other projects supported by the local chapter have included bringing a display to the area highlighting the achievements of women in history and partnering with the League of Women Voters to help sponsor a workshop encouraging women to run for public office.
